When 29-year-old Soumaya decides to visit her grandmother in Algeria, what begins as a simple family trip evolves
into a tender journey of identity and belonging. Having grown up in Barcelona, she often felt the emotional gap with
her Algerian mother, especially around traditions and faith. Filming her return, Soumaya immerses herself in a world
where prayer and everyday life flow together, sharing moments with cousins, listening to her grandmother, and
revisiting family archives. The film intertwines humor, intimate conversations, and home movies to reveal the fragile
yet resilient bonds between three generations of women. At once a portrait of migration and memory, it is a reflection
on love, distance, and the ways traditions continue to shape us.
