María Lorente-Becerra is a filmmaker and poet. From a young age, she developed a voice marked by lyricism and psychological depth. At 14, she co-directed Los veraneantes (New Look Award, BA) and presented Las heridas lilas at the Filmoteca de Catalunya alongside Godard. A Philosophy graduate trained at Bande à Part and ESCAC, she works in film, music videos, and video essays. In 2019, she published Es magia lo que ves. Her short film Helix Aspersa represented Spain at Cannes (2cool4school, ICAA) and won the Mostra de Cinema Espiritual de Cataluña. She is currently developing her first feature selected at the EICTV (Cuba) residency and collaborates as creative director with Mamma Roma Films. Her work explores the diaphanous spaces between the dreamlike and reality.
