Francesc Relea, a journalist and documentary filmmaker, has developed a large part of his journalistic career in the Spanish newspaper El País, for which he worked as a correspondent successively in Argentina., Mexico and Portugal. He was a member of the TV3-Catalan Television program “Trenta Minuts” (Thirty Minutes) for five years and is one of the co-founders of the Barcelona based production company What’s Up Doc. As an independent documentary
filmmaker, he has directed the films La huella de los criminales (The criminals track, 1996), about the consequences of the Bosnia-Herzegovina war in the Drina Valley; Serrat-Sabina. El símbolo y el cuate (2013), premiered at the San Sebastián Film Festival; and Ciudades a Contraluz (Out of Darkness, 2016), presented at the Seminci in Valladolid.
