David Mataró born in Barcelona is a director and screen writer. He studied TV Production in Barcelona. After that he started a short film trilogy to the state of the matter, with Gas 2000 and Liquid 2004. These two films were awarded in many Spanish festivals as Victoria, Torrelavega, Art jove, Barcelona etc… In 2002 Mataró directed “Reflejos de una Dama” a short film starring Jordi Rebellón and Ana Otero. From 2006 to 2009 David worked as a Screen Writer in Madrid as different Tv shows like “Lalola” Antena3 or “Empieza el espectáculo” TVE.
Back in Mallorca, wrote and directed Migjorn and Hotel Bellavista, Tv Series with high ratings. In 2010 Directed de Documentary “Del silenci… paraules” about the story of the last political prisoners in Balearic Islands. In 2017 he co directed and wrote “Treufoc” a Tv show that won a Peyo Sarasola award to the best regional tv show and has international distribution with Federation Entertainment. In 2020 is about to release a new Documentary called “Streams of Sa Dragonera” that shows the peaceful occupation of the island in 1977 that prevented its urbanization.
