Ana Ortiz was born in Malaga, Spain. She studied filmmaking at the prestigious ESCAC, in Barcelona, where she shot her first short films. The second one, Routine, enjoyed a great distribution in festivals both in Spain and abroad. El Pas de Sant Joan is her third short film, which she was able to shoot with a Catalan production company, Fosca Films, and the support of severaly national funds. She is currently developing her first feature film.
