Emerson Adcock (born 1996) is an Australian filmmaker and photographer whose work explores how place shapes
memory, history, and identity through landscape, portraiture, and quiet observation. His practice examines the subtle
ways human experience becomes embedded within environments, balancing documentary observation with
understated staging to create images that occupy a space between realism and the uncanny. This interest extends to
his films, including Ellipse, shot inside the Sydney Opera House, which reflects on the pursuit of artistic perfection
through the life of an Australian Ballet dancer. In 2025, he was nominated for the Portrait Prize at the Head On Photo
Festival.
