In the fall of 1966, John Lennon traveled to Almeria, a Spanish province in southern Europe to take part in the filming of "How I Won the War", directed by Richard Lester. There, far from the din of the world, he composed one of his most emblematic songs: Strawberry Fields Forever. He celebrated its 26th birthday there, with a party that Ringo Starr attended and Paul McCartney was supposed to. But Paul never came.
